There was a fire in our neighborhood last week. The fire destroyed two homes but thankfully nobody was hurt. We're using the opportunity to talk to the boys about fire safety. Brody, for the most part, gets it. He knows that if there is a fire and he can't find us, he should run and get outside. He knows to meet us at the mailbox, although recently decided he wants to meet us at the playground instead in case the fire is too big. He knows how to dial 911 for help and he knows not to be afraid of the firemen that will come and help him. Logan on the other hand said: "the superheros will save me."

While getting ready for work one morning, Brody was watching me put on my makeup. I was curling my eyelashes when he laughed and told me "Mama, it looks like your eyes are in jail."
