I can fly!

This morning as the boys woke up and scrambled downstairs for breakfast, I heard Brody say "I can fly downstairs!" Then Logan said "me too!" and suddenly I see a streak of red and blue as both boys race past in Superman pajamas with their capes flying. Thankfully, running fast is just as good as flying to them, so there were no injuries as they flew downstairs. My little superheroes...

Scrapple

I had never heard of scrapple before I started dating Jacob.  I don't think I'd even seen it on the grocery shelves, in its anonymous red and white packaging.  It is still a mystery meat to me, gray in color and oddly textured... it's not something I like to eat.  But Jacob loves the stuff when it's cut thin and fried crisp and considers it a special treat for the cabin.  For the past month, we've had a block of scrapple in our fridge, leftover from a recent cabin trip.  On a rainy Sunday, there is nothing better than a lazy, big breakfast.  This morning, our big breakfast included pancakes, potatoes, and because Jacob was helping to cook... scrapple.  The boys loved it.  They probably ate as much scrapple as they ate pancakes.  I didn't touch the stuff but I have to admit that it did smell good.

Potato!

As we were all waking up this morning, we heard Logan calling out from his room. This is unusual. Most mornings these days, he saunters out and finds us, then asks for yogurt. This morning, he stayed in bed, talking and at times, yelling, "potato" in a British accent. He started with just potato, then po-tay-toh. That eventually evolved into PO-TAY-TOH! Finally we went in and said hello, as he explained to us that Thomas says potato. Whatever, kid.
