Wiggly Teeth

This morning, as we drove to Brody's school, he asked me when he would get a wiggly tooth.  He said his classmates who went to PreK before him all had wiggly teeth.  And Cameron, who was still in Preschool 3 when Brody went to PreK also has a wiggly tooth.  Brody's logic is that if Cameron came to PreK after Brody, then he shouldn't have wiggly teeth until after Brody too.  I didn't realize we were getting to the age of wiggly teeth.  I remember the feeling; when they get to the point of hanging on by a few threads and you can get your tongue between the tooth and gumline.  Yuck.  It grossed me out when wiggly teeth were in my mouth as a kid and it's going to be worse to watch my boys play with their own wiggly teeth.  I hope Jacob is ready for this milestone because I may choose to opt out.

Back at the beach

We're at the beach this week, spending time with the Plummers in the Outer Banks in NC. The boys are sharing a room with bunk beds and having a good time together. Last night as they were going to bed I heard Brody talking and talking and talking while Logan, who was clearly the more tired of the two was quiet. Finally Brody paused in his endless chatter and said "Logan, say something." then a pause and "...say something!" Logan quickly shot back an irritated "SOMETHING!" Brody got the point then and quieted down himself, letting Logan go to sleep. This morning they woke up around 7am and giggled in their room for 20 minutes before they came looking for me.

Today while out at the beach, Brody was off looking for shells to take home to his Pre-K class. He brought back a white and brown layered shell and asked "mama, is this shell a little bit awesome or not at all?" My kid is so cool.

Life with boys

This is what your silverware drawer might look like if you have two boys, ages five and three. Superheroes and transformers reign supreme in our house.
